I grew up in Northcliff Johannesburg. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Pretoria in Sports Science and then went on to complete my Honours in Biokinetics at the University of the Witwatersrand. Throughout my schooling career I partook in numerous sports activities ie. Hockey, swimming, squash, and golf. During my studies I worked at an EMS studio manging one of the pretoria branches and assisting with all rehabilitation clients. My internship was completed at Biolife Health and Fitness Centre under the supervision of Hannes Dreeckmeier and I am currently practicing at Biolife.

My name is Larissa and I completed my Bachelors of Sport Science at the University of Pretoria and my Honours in Biokinetics at the University of Witwatersrand. I am very passionate about teaching the youth how their bodies work and how to train properly. My interest are in post-op rehabilitation as well as the rehabilitation of sports injuries. My hobbies are playing hockey and going for a hike with friends and my dogs.

Lize-Mari du Plessis

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Movement Science and Physiology (NWU) 2019
  • Honours in Sport Science (UP) 2020
  • Honours in Biokinetics (WITS) 2021

I have always had a love for sports and for helping people, and Biokinetics is the perfect middle ground for me. I love helping people reach their full potential and walking a path with them. I also love challenging myself with new patients and learning something new every day.  I would say my biggest interest in the field is the sport specific training, with my thorough background in sport science I have developed quite a passion for it. It has really taught me how to adapt an exercise protocol based on each individual and making it specific to them and their lives. I also enjoy orthopedics a lot, it interests me how the body can work as a chain and how different parts of the body can affect one another.

I was born and raised in Pretoria with two older brothers who are probably where I got my competitiveness and love for sports from. I love adventures, the outdoors, animals and trying new things. I love spending time with close friends and family and people in general.
